MEET
MIA SHARK.

I lost my family’s home service business at sixteen because nobody ever taught my father how to make the phone ring. I have spent the twenty-one years since making sure that does not happen to you.

BEFORE ANY OF THIS

Papa Was The Phone.

My grandfather built a plumbing and HVAC empire. Twenty techs. Decades of it. He never called any of it marketing. He called it knowing everybody. He sponsored the ball team. He fixed the church boiler for nothing. He remembered your mother’s name and he asked about her hip.

The phone rang because Papa was the reason it rang. Nobody ever wrote that down. Nobody thought they had to. When I was fourteen he died, and the only system that business ever had died in the room with him.

THE PART NOBODY SAW COMING

Twenty Techs. Then None.

My father inherited a real business and a phone that had already started going quiet. He was a gifted tradesman. He had no idea how to make a stranger call him. So he did what good men do. He worked harder. He worked longer. He blamed the season, then the economy, then himself.

Two years later there were no techs, no trucks, and no business. I want you to sit with the part everybody rushes past. It did not take a recession. It did not take a villain. It took a phone that went quiet and a family that did not know why.

THE SENTENCE I COULD NOT PUT DOWN

“If the phone would just ring,
none of this happens.”

I was sixteen, I had nowhere to sleep, and that was the only thought in my head. Twenty-one years later it is still the only thought in my head. It is the entire reason this company exists.

SIXTEEN

I Didn’t Learn Marketing. I Earned It.

I left with what I could carry. I worked three jobs, most of them nights. I stayed sober when it would have been a lot easier not to. I finished high school at the top of my class on almost no sleep, and I put myself through a Digital Media Arts degree at Seneca at York.

I am not telling you this so you will feel something for sixteen-year-old me. She is fine. She turned out okay. I am telling you because it is the reason I cannot be casual about your phone. I know exactly what is waiting on the other side of a quiet month, and it is not a spreadsheet.

THE PART OF MY RESUME I LIKE LEAST

I Was Very Good At Helping The Wrong People.

My first real years were in agencies, on accounts you already know. BMW. Mini. Coca-Cola. Big rooms, big budgets, big words on big slides. I was good at it, and I got paid for being good at it.

I also sat in those rooms knowing that not one thing I did that day would have saved my father. Nobody in that building had ever met a man who could not make payroll on Friday. So I left. Not nobly, and not with a speech. I just could not keep spending my one life making enormous brands slightly more enormous.

BUILDING SOMETHING FROM NOTHING

I Started From Zero. Just Like You.

I started my own company from absolute zero. No clients. No reputation. Just a promise I had made to a sixteen-year-old homeless girl, and a fire to make a damn difference.

You remember going solo? That mix of freedom and pure terror. Your first tough client. Your first time chasing payment. The Saturday you worked while everybody else was at a barbecue. We were both building something from nothing. That gives you grit, and it deserves respect.

So I focused on local small businesses, mom-and-pop shops, and the Home Service Heroes keeping this country running. Those were the families I had left the safe paycheck to help.

And those owners taught me. They gave me their time, answered my questions, and showed me the crew dynamics, seasonal pressures, and cash-flow realities no marketing textbook could explain. They showed me what actually happens after the phone rings.

I brought what I knew about making the phone ring, tracking what worked, and stopping the money wasted on marketing that did not deliver. We built real relationships. Mutual respect. They became more than clients and peers. They became family.

That is where the years went. Testing, failing, rebuilding, and learning alongside real owners. Eventually, I took those skills into restricted industries to test them under even harder conditions.

WHERE THE INDUSTRY CALLED ME THE QUEEN OF CBD

I Became Known For Growing The “Ungrowable.”

Eventually, I took my skills into CBD. An industry where advertising restrictions made growth a whole different fight. That is where I became known as the “Queen of CBD,” the marketer who could grow the “ungrowable.”

I wanted my skills tested under the hardest conditions. And they were. Broken funnels. Relentless testing. Strategies that had to be rebuilt when the rules changed. There was no room to coast on what had worked somewhere else.

Those years sharpened the work I was already doing for local business owners. Different industry. Same responsibility: build something that works when somebody’s livelihood depends on it.

TWENTY YEARS LATER

I Went Back And Got The Phone Ringing.

I went home with twenty years of hard-won marketing and I rebuilt my father’s shop with my own two hands and my own frameworks. I took his phones myself. I ran the steps on every single ring. It took nine months, not nine days, and it was the hardest work of my life.

Today he is in a house on the water. He plays in a hockey league. And I have got a Dad again.

That is the part nobody puts on a sales page, so I am putting it here. This was never about revenue. Revenue was just the door.

SO WE ARE CLEAR

Three Things I Am Not.

01

Not an agency.

I do not run your marketing for you, and I will not take a retainer to do it. I teach you to build it and run it.

02

Not a guru.

No rented cars, no fake countdown timers, no secrets. The whole playbook costs seven dollars because it should. Get the book.

03

Not a theorist.

Every framework I teach was field-tested on real shops with real payroll, including my own family’s.

THE THING PEOPLE ARGUE WITH ME ABOUT

I Will Not Do It For You.

On Purpose.

People offer me good money to just run the whole thing for them. I say no, and some of them get annoyed with me, and I understand why. So here is my reason, and it is not a sales angle.

My grandfather did it for my father for thirty years. The day Papa was gone, the whole thing fell over inside two years, because the system lived inside a man instead of inside the business. I am not going to be the next person your family cannot survive losing.

So I teach you to build it, I hand you the actual playbook, and you own it forever. If I vanished tomorrow, your phone still rings. That is the only version of help I am willing to give you.

WHAT I ACTUALLY DO ALL DAY

I Don’t Know Squat About Fixing AC Units…

Genuinely. Hand me a manifold gauge and I will hand it straight back to you. You are the expert. You have mastered a trade that keeps people warm, dry and safe, and you earned every bit of that the hard way.

There is exactly one system nobody ever taught you, and it happens to be the one that decides whether everything else you built survives. That one is mine. I have spent twenty-one years on it the way you spent yours on yours.

You keep your lane. I will keep mine. And between the two of us, your phone rings on a Tuesday in February.

THE ANSWERS

QUESTIONS PEOPLE
ACTUALLY ASK.

Who is Mia Shark?

Mia Shark is the founder of Shark Life Media and the author of Just Make The Phone Ring, a marketing system for home service businesses that has generated more than $63 million in documented profit for over 200 owners across all 50 states.

Is Mia Shark her real name?

Yes. Mia Shark is her legal name.

What happened to Mia Shark’s family business?

Her grandfather built a 20-technician plumbing and HVAC company, and after he died her father inherited it with no way to attract new customers, so it closed within two years and left Mia homeless at sixteen.

Is Shark Life Media a marketing agency?

No. Shark Life Media never runs marketing on a client’s behalf; it teaches home service owners to build and operate the system themselves through the book, the On-Demand Revenue Engine course, and The Engine Room coaching.

What does Mia Shark teach?

She teaches home service owners to install a three-engine marketing system they own permanently, instead of renting leads from an agency that can disappear.

What are Mia Shark’s qualifications?

Twenty-one years in marketing, a Digital Media Arts degree from Seneca at York, early agency work on BMW, Mini and Coca-Cola, and two decades building marketing systems for home service businesses including her own family’s.

What industries has Mia Shark worked in?

Mia Shark started with early agency work on BMW, Mini and Coca-Cola, then built marketing for local small businesses, including Home Service Heroes, and later took those skills into restricted industries, where she became known as the “Queen of CBD.”
